Liuzhou Railway Vocational Technical College is situated in Liuzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China and the largest industrial city in Guangxi. As a full-time public higher vocational college registered with the Ministry of Education, it was founded in 1956 and boasts a profound educational heritage.
The college is the only higher vocational railway college in Guangxi with the most comprehensive railway majors and the only one oriented to ASEAN, covering the entire industrial chain of rail transit. It is honored as the Cradle of Railway Skilled Personnel Cultivation in Southwest China. It has successively been awarded as a Model Higher Vocational College in Guangxi, a Characteristic University in Guangxi, a National Railway Science Popularization Education Base, etc. In 2023, it was selected as a construction unit of a new round of high-level higher vocational colleges in Guangxi, ranking among the three outstanding lists of Industry-Education Integration, Talent Cultivation and International Cooperation for higher vocational colleges in western China.
With solid educational conditions, the college covers an area of nearly 800 mu (approx. 53.36 hectares), with a building area of over 320,000 square meters. It has a strong faculty of nearly 800 staff members, including 459 teachers with master's degrees or above and 280 teachers with associate senior professional titles or above, featuring high-level dual-qualified teams such as the Huang Danian-style Teacher Team of National Universities. The college has 10 secondary colleges offering 44 majors, with more than 15,000 full-time vocational students, forming a professional development pattern of One Main Body, Two Wings, Multiple Integrations.
With distinctive educational characteristics, the college takes the lead in establishing platforms such as the Industry-Education Integration Community of Guangxi Rail Transit Industry, and conducts in-depth cooperation with 13 large-scale railway enterprises. Over the past 70 years since its establishment, it has cultivated more than 160,000 technical and skilled talents, including a number of industry models such as Hou Shude. It enjoys outstanding educational quality, with 3 high-level professional groups in Guangxi and 4 national key majors, and has won many honors including the Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement. Its graduates are highly favored by railway enterprises.
It has prominent advantages in international cooperation. It pioneered the vocational education internationalization pathway of One Entity, One Institute · Dual Circulation, co-built the Railway Modern Craftsman College with Universiti Malaysia Pahang, and initiated the establishment of the China-Malaysia Vocational Education Industry-Education Alliance, gathering resources from more than 30 domestic and overseas institutions including CCCC and CRRC. The college has cooperated in building 1 technical training center (staff training base) for the Malaysia East Coast Railway in Malaysia, and set up 5 railway training bases in the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and Malaysia, including an international student internship and practice base, Pahang Skill Center Rail Maintenance Training Base, Universiti Kuala Lumpur Railway Signal Virtual Simulation Training Base, and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Train Reception and Departure Training Base. In the past five years, it has cultivated 468 ASEAN international students and provided over 25,000 person-days of training for overseas Chinese-funded enterprises, becoming a reservoir for the cultivation of overseas localized talents.
