Nanning Vocational and Technical University (NVTU) is a full-time comprehensive undergraduate vocational institution sponsored by the Nanning Municipal People's Government and jointly established by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Nanning City. It is located in Nanning, the permanent host city of the China-ASEAN Expo. NVTU is one of the first batch of national demonstration higher vocational institutions, a national high-quality higher vocational institution, and a participant in the two rounds of the "Double High Plan". It is a key member of the national team of skill-oriented universities, and its overall strength consistently ranks among the top similar institutions nationwide. NVTU has repeatedly been honored with titles such as "Top 50 Influential Vocational Colleges in Asia-Pacific", "5-Star Institution in the Asia-Pacific Vocational College Influence Index" and "China-ASEAN Outstanding Partner in Vocational Education".

The university covers an area of 115 hectares with a building area of 675,000 square meters. It has 11 colleges and offers 52 majors. At present, there are 22,033 full-time students, 1,640 adult-education students, and 583 international students, as well as more than 1,150 faculty and staff members.

The university collaborates with 285 world-renowned enterprises as well as a number of leading enterprises in Nanning, and has established one national-level municipal industry-education conglomerate and one national-level information and communication industry-education integration conglomerate. In partnership with industries, it has also co-established 4 vocational education groups, 10 distinctive industry colleges and 3 on-site engineer colleges. It houses 59 on-campus training bases and 271 training rooms, multiple world-class training centers and the Guangxi Public Vocational Skills Training Base, the largest such base in Southwest China with a total investment of 1 billion yuan.

The university emphasizes open education and partners with multiple European, American and African countries, and has signed cooperation agreements with 25 universities and colleges in ASEAN countries. Over the past decade, the university has initiated or managed a number of national and provincial-level platforms, including the Chinese Language Culture Education Base, Guangxi-Hong Kong Vocational Education Development Alliance, China-ASEAN Vocational Education Cloud Platform, Guangxi International Sister Cities Alliance on Vocational Education, and the Study-in-Guangxi Base of China-ASEAN Educational Cooperation and Openness Pilot Zone. Moreover, it has founded 6 overseas educational institutions including the China-Vietnam Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Electronic Information. These platforms have carried out a series of international education programs and exchange activities, generating significant economic and social benefits.

In recent years, the university has enrolled more than 1040 academic and more than 1600 non-academic international students from more than 30 countries. Currently, it hosts 583 international students on campus. The university has also conducted technical skills training for more than 31,000 people-days overseas. In 2025, it received the "5-star institution in the Asia-Pacific Vocational Colleges Influence Index" "Award for Outstanding Contribution to China-Malaysia Educational International Cooperation" and other awards.
