Guilin University of Technology (GUT), founded in 1956, is a long-established public university situated in the world-famous scenic city of Guilin in Guangxi Province. GUT has developed into a university of multiple disciplines. With Engineering taking the lead, there are a total of 8 primary disciplines, including sciences, management, liberal arts, economics, law, arts and agriculture. GUT provides a coordinated development of postgraduate education, undergraduate education, higher vocational education and continuing education.
Covering more than 220 hectares, GUT has four campuses: Guilin Pingfeng, Guilin Yanshan, Nanning Anji, and Nanning Konggang. GUT has 19 colleges with 69 undergraduate programs, 37 master's degree programs, 3 post-doctoral research stations, as well as 6 doctoral degree programs. Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Ecology and Earth Science have entered the top 1% in ESI global rankings. 15 programs have passed Engineering Education Accreditation (evaluation), and 2 programs have earned UN Tourism TedQual Certification. GUT is home to more than 3,300 faculty and staff members, 47,000 full-time students.
Committed to open education, GUT actively develops a comprehensive, multi-level international exchange and cooperation framework to enhance global influence and competitiveness. So far GUT has established friendly cooperative relations with over 100 universities in more than 30 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc., and has signed academic exchanges, personnel training and scientific research cooperation agreements with more than 50 of them. The education of international students has developed steadily, and so far GUT has cultivated over 6,600 students from more than 60 countries.
